Finally I found this recipe in the Internet after an arduous research:

"Hojuelas (Fried Puff Squares)

1/2 cup (1/4 lb.) butter
3 cups flour
1 t. salt
1 T. sugar
5 T. orange juice
3 T. ice cold water
Cooking oil
Sugar to sprinkle
Mix the butter and flour with two forks. When well mixed, add the salt, sugar, juice and water and blend. Without touching the dough with your fingers, roll it out and fold it in half. Repeat this operation two more times and place in the refrigerator until chilled. Roll out very thin and cut into diagonal strips. Make a slit in the center of each one. Deep fry in hot cooking oil until golden. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle sugar generously over the squares. Makes about 2 dozen."
Did not succeed with Colombian pictures. Not a single image is available about the hojuelas as I remember them I searched nochebuena, dulces tradicionales de navidad, hojuelas de masa, and nothing was even similar to them. I also did not remember that they were actually fried. Could not we achieve the same delicious result baking the dough in the oven?

Above a picture taken in Spain, during a municipality celebration where fried pastry is also offered. Few other examples of Chilean recipes include the same type of product. I this a recipe that we learned during the Spanish Colonial times?
